A peaceful & beautiful resting place

After the death of my 16 year old son arranging the funeral became my obsession. It had to be befitting for my ‘magnificent son’.

Once the arrangements were made deciding where to inter his ashes became the next obsession. It had to be just right. Somewhere peaceful. Somewhere he would have liked. Somewhere where I would want to return. Several options were explored, all of which seemed to be depressingly, neglected places. With the impression that loved ones had been forgotten. They were depressing places.

I was fortunate in that I had been given the details of Clayton Wood. Whilst it might seem somewhat of a cliché, the minute I visited Clayton I knew it was the perfect place. Both a Peaceful & Beautiful resting place, that in years to come will be a wood through which people will roam knowing that my son would be part of that helped lift the spirits a little. Throughout it all the team at Clayton were respectful, helpful & supportive, making a terrible situation that little bit easier to deal with.

I really can’t thank everyone enough.

When I return to Clayton now (which is often) I know I made the right choice.

A peaceful & beautiful resting place

  • My wife and I often discussed the merits of cremation or burial and eventually decided on burial-but the idea of churchyards with their rows of tombstones did not appeal, and most of the ones we had seen were derelict and overgrown. We both decided we would like a woodland burial, where from the afterlife, we could commune with nature. Over…
